Pray Out Loud

Pray Out Loud

God hears our silent, whispered, murmured and loud prayers, however there are many good reasons to pray out loud. A few are:

1. When we pray out loud it zeros in on our thoughts. At any given time we have many thoughts going through our mind so when we pray out loud it helps to single out what we are praying for.

2. Praying out loud together is the pattern set for us by the early church

Acts 1:14 NKJV
“These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.”

Acts 2:42 NKJV
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.”

Acts 12:12 NKJV
“So, when he had considered this, he came to the house of Mary, the mother of John whose surname was Mark, where many were gathered together praying.”

3. Praying out loud declares your faith.
According to Romans 10:9-10, confession is made with the mouth.

Romans 10:9-10 NKJV
“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

By praying out loud, you are declaring, or confessing, your faith.

4. Praying out loud is an encouragement.
When we pray out loud those that hear can be encouraged by our words.

When Jesus prayed for other people He prayed out loud so that those who heard Him could be strengthened in their faith and encouraged.

5. Praying out loud can help stir up faith and prayer in others.

Hebrews 10:24-25.NKJV
“And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,
not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

6. Praying out loud helps others to pray.
Jesus taught His disciples how to pray. By listening to Jesus pray they gained greater understanding on prayer and how to pray.

7. Praying out loud can speak things into existence.
Our words contain power and they have the ability to speak things into existence.

8. Praying our loud (in a group setting) is a way of sharing our struggles and weaknesses. It can also be comforting for others to pray out loud for us.

James 5:13-16 NKJV
“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.
And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.”

9. Praying out loud helps build your faith. Your mind thinks it, your mouth says it, your ears hear it and your mind believes it.

He‘s Making A List…

Standard

BIBLE THOUGHTS

“He’s making a list and checking it twice,

Gonna find out if your naughty or nice.”

The world and Satan always have a counterfeit for the things of God. Man has given many attributes, that belong only to God, to an image that was created to promote commercialism.

GOD IS EVERYWHERE

God is omnipresent, which means everywhere at all times. God is always present – He is always with us and He never leaves us.

Psalm 139: 7-12 NKJV
“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me. If I say, “Surely the darkness shall fall on me,” Even the night shall be light about me; Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day; The darkness and the light are both alike to You.”

There is no place where we can hide from God. There is not a place in this entire universe where we could go that God isn’t there.

GOD MAKES A LIST (BOOK OF LIFE)

God does have a list of those who will receive the greatest gift of all, eternal life in His presence. This “list” is known as the Book of Life.

Revelation 20: 11-15 NKJV

“ Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works. Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”

For those whose names appear on the list they will hear “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

Matthew 25:31-34 NKJV

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world”

For those whose names do not appear on the list they will hear, “Depart from Me, you workers of iniquity.”

Revelation 21:27 NKJV

“ But there shall by no means enter it anything that defiles, or causes an abomination or a lie, but only those who are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.”

Revelation 20:15 NKJV

“And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Luke 13:27-28 NKJV

“But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity.’ There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, and yourselves thrust out.”

GOD KNOWS IF YOU HAVE BEEN “NAUGHTY” OR “NICE”

God is omniscient which means all-knowing or knowing everything. He knows everything you do and everything you think about. He also knows where you are at all times. God knows each of the stars by name and He knows how many there are. Just as He knows the name of every star, He knows your name also.

Psalm 147:4-5 NKJV

“He counts the number of the stars; He calls them all by name. Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.”

God knows us intimately. Our motives, desires, and words are known by Him even before we express them to Him.

Psalm 139: 1-6 NKJV
“O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, But behold, O Lord, You know it altogether. You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it.”

GOD’S GIFT TO YOU

Salvation is a gift. We can’t earn it or buy it. To receive this gift we simply confess our sin to God and ask forgiveness for our sins.

1 John 1:9 NKJV

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Romans 10:9-10 NKJV

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation”

When we admit that we have sinned, believe that Jesus shed His blood for forgiveness of our sins, and confess our sin to God (asking Him to forgive us) we receive the gift of salvation. God takes our sins away and washes us clean. He completely removes our sin and guilt from us. AND HE WRITES OUR NAME IN THE BOOK OF LIFE!

Jesus will return at a time when we least expect it. Are you ready for His return?

1 Thessalonians 5:2 NKJV

“For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night.”

2 Peter 3:10 NKJV

“But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.”
