Matthew 16:13-15 NKJV

“When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, ‘Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?’ So they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’ He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?”

To truly worship Jesus, we must acknowledge Jesus’ relationship with the Father, the sacrifice He paid and who He is. One definition of worship is to ascribe value to someone or something. You only value what you acknowledge as valuable. How can you worship (ascribe value to) Jesus if you do not know who He is? Or what agony He suffered for you? Jesus suffered and sacrificed much for each one of us.

Dear Father,

Thank-you for giving Your Son, Jesus Christ, as a sacrifice for our sins. He paid our price, a price we could not pay, that we could be restored into a right relationship with You. By the power of the Holy Spirit, may we never forget the agony that the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords went through for us. May we never cease to worship Jesus for who He is.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
