1 Thessalonians 4:13-17 NKJV

“But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

Luke 12:37  NKJV

“Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them.”

When Jesus returns I desire to be found faithful. More than anything in the world I long to hear the voice of the Lord say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Are you watching for Jesus’ return?

Dear Father,

Thank-you that You have chosen me and that I may draw near to You. As I draw near to You I have the assurance that You will draw near to me. In my time of desperation and thirst I know You are near me.

May everything that I do and say be according to Your perfect will. Cause me to heed and beware of religion, tradition and complacency. Increase my hunger for more of You and more of Your Word. Thank-you for Your Son, Jesus Christ. He is the Bread of Life and I know that through Him I shall never go hungry or thirst. Like Jesus, may my food be to do Your will and to finish the work that You have called me to do.

May I never cease to ask, seek, and knock. I know that when I diligently ask, I shall receive. When I diligently seek, I shall find. And when I diligently knock, the door will be opened.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
