Allow Yourself To Be Washed By The Word Of God

In Biblical times the priest could not go into the holy place or the holy of holies (the presence of God) without first going by the outer court and then the laver. The priest would offer a sacrifice on the brazen altar, then he would go to the laver and wash before going into the holy place. The laver was made out of looking glasses that the women had brought out from Egypt. The laver was a place of reflection and sanctification. The water in it represented the Word of God. No matter how many times the priest went into the holy place he always had to wash his hands and feet before going in.

Exodus 30:17-21 NKJV
“Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: ‘You shall also make a laver of bronze, with its base also of bronze, for washing. You shall put it between the tabernacle of meeting and the altar. And you shall put water in it, for Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and feet in water from it. When they go into the tabernacle of meeting, or when they come near the altar to minister, to burn an offering made by fire to the Lord, they shall wash their hands and their feet, lest they die. And it shall be a statute forever to them – to him and his descendants throughout their generations.’ ”

As believers, we too, must continually look into the Word of God to see ourselves. We must examine ourselves on a daily basis (throughout the day) with the Holy Spirit. Then we must repent of any sin. As long as we are alive, we have a continual need for repentance – a continual need for the washing of the Word.
