After forty years in the wilderness, the children of Israel were about to cross over the Jordan River into the Promised Land. They were then given a command and a promise – God promised them that He would give them the victory, but first they must sanctify themselves.
Joshua 3:5 NKJV
“And Joshua said to the people, “Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.”
After leaving Egypt the people began to cry out for something to eat, other than the manna that they were give. God promised to provide flesh for them, but first they must sanctify themselves.
Numbers 11:18 NKJV
“Then you shall say to the people, ‘Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow, and you shall eat meat; for you have wept in the hearing of the Lord, saying, “Who will give us meat to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore the Lord will give you meat, and you shall eat.”
We thank-you for all Your promises. We can see from Your Word that Your commandments come with a promise. When we submit to You, and are obedient, You will provide us with everything we need, including victory and provisions. By the power of the Holy Spirit, may we truly concrete ourselves unto You and to Your purposes for us.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
