Isaiah 59:19 NKJV
“So shall they fear
The name of the Lord from the west,
And His glory from the rising of the sun;
When the enemy comes in like a flood,
The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.”
If we are desperate for the presence of the Lord in our life and in our church we must be full of vigor. Vigor can be described as active strength or force, healthy energy or power When the enemy comes against us the Lord will judge the enemy (person or thing). He will wage war against the enemy. Our part is to be full of the power of the Holy Spirit, and He will help stand firm in the face of the enemy. He has armed us with strength for the battle.
Psalm 18:39 NKJV
“For You have armed me with strength for the battle;
You have subdued under me those who rose up against me.”
The battles that we go through do not belong to us. They belong to the Lord. We should not try to fight the battle for God.
1 Samuel 17:47 NKJV
“Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands”
Our vigor (strength, force, power) does not come from the physical. It is supernatural. It only comes from the Spirit of God.
Zechariah 4:6b NKJV
“ ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’
Says the Lord of hosts.”
Philippians 4:13 NKJV
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
Thank-you for all that You do for us. You truly are the Lord Our Strength. When the enemy comes in like a flood against us, You, O Lord, lift up a standard against him. You will wage war against our enemy and You subdued those who rise up against us. By the power of the Holy Spirit, help us stand firm in the face of the enemy and arm us with strength for the battle. May we always remember that the battles that we go through do not belong to us. They belong to You, O Lord.
Cause us to keep our eyes on You and not on our enemy and may we never try to fight the battle for You. Fill us full of vigor, strength, force and power for Your glory. Thank-you that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
