Obedience and Growth

Obedience and Growth

When we deny ourselves things in order to help someone who is in need (distress) our relationship with God will deepen.

Isaiah 58:8-9 NKJV
“The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard,
Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’…”

God desires for us to be His hands and feet (His body) to the world in which we live. God is a spirit and He needs a body to work through. We are to be that body. When we are obedient to do what God calls us to do, even though (and especially if) it is a sacrifice on our part, we will grow closer to Him.
Our relationship with God will grow deeper and stronger as we heed His voice (commands). While we are doing what He has told us to do we will not have to worry about the enemy sneaking up on us from behind. He will be our rear guard. He will stand beside us, in front of us and behind us. When we call out to Him, He will hear and answer.

About watchingservant

"Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them." Luke 12:37 NKJV When Jesus returns I desire to be found faithful. More than anything in the world I long to hear the voice of the Lord say, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
