I love snow! There is nothing like looking at freshly fallen snow. As it falls it makes everything look beautiful. The nasty old trash pile filled with garbage and debris looks equally as beautiful as the most expensive house that money can buy. The old cars with their dents and rust from life are covered over making them look new again. The barren tree standing out in a field no longer looks lonely, but at peace, as it’s glistening branches reach up to the sky. Yes, snow is very forgiving. It covers everything, from trash to trees. Whenever I see snow I think about God and His great love for us. The Bible tells us that God can be seen in all His creations.
Romans 1:20-21 NKJV
“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
Even in the snow God tries to reveal His love and His plan of salvation to man. The blood of Jesus Christ can cover anyone’s sins. It doesn’t matter what a person has done, just like the snow, His blood can make them beautiful and clean. For the person that is covered in Jesus’ blood, as God looks down from heaven, He doesn’t see them as sinful or trash or garbage. But as a beautiful tree with it’s glistening branches reaching up to the sky to Him.
Isaiah 1:18 NKJV
“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.”
God loves you and doesn’t want to be separated from you. Your sins can be washed away, never to be remembered again. But it is up to you to decide. In life there are choices, decisions, and consequences. God has set before every man, woman, boy, and girl the choice of accepting His gift of salvation through Jesus Christ or rejecting it. Each person must make the decision for themselves. That decision will determine where they spend eternity.
Snow causes me to remember God’s Word to me “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.” So, YES I LOVE SNOW!
