Individual Worship :
God designed man to be a worshiper. Everyone worships someone or something. Worship means to ascribe worth unto someone or something. When we worship God we are giving great honor and reverence to Him. We are expressing our love and admiration to Him. In essence, we are giving back part of ourselves to Him (ministering to Him.)
During our worship times we consider (think about) how extremely precious God is and the love that He has for us. It is a very special time between you and God. It is a very intimate time- not a time to be talking to other people, doing other things, fidgeting, complaining, or thinking about other things. It is a time to be talking to God and listening to Him. You can expect to hear from God during worship.
God is worthy of our worship- He is the only one worthy of our worship. He is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! Since God gave everything He had for intimacy with us, should we not do the same. As we enter into worship, let’s clear our minds, cleanse our hearts and begin to worship God for who He is.
Worship brings us into one accord, into the unity of the Spirit. As we worship the Lord with other Christians, we are brought into a unity, a oneness. Instead of concentrating on our differences, we look at Jesus and focus on Him. As we are caught up in the wonder of His Person, those differences fade away.
It is as we look together to Jesus and worship Him that we are drawn closer to Him and closer to each other. It has been said, that Christians are arranged in a circle around God like the spokes on the outer rim of a wheel. As we draw closer to God, approaching the hub (center) of the wheel, so also we draw closer to each other. Worshipping God brings us into one accord.
You are truly worthy of our worship- You are the only one worthy of our worship. You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords! You gave everything You had for intimacy with us. By the power of the Holy Spirit, may we do the same. As we enter into worship may we clear our minds, cleanse our hearts and begin to worship You for who You are. We ask that in and through worship You bring us into one accord, into the unity of the Spirit – a unity of oneness. Cause we to forget our differences and look directly into Your face and focus on You.
In Jesus’ name, Amen
